97 2.0 litre vitara


The last few months its taken 2 or 3 turns of the key to make my vitara start. Went away to the shack on the weekend and went out exploring some new tracks with the car running fine. Went to start it again a few hours later and no go. When i turn the key all accesories work (cd player, 12volt phone charger, lights) all dash lights on. Could hear fuel pump fine. However when i turn the key from acc to engine on position the fuel pump seams to loose power and the electric window light in drivers side door goes dim and handbrake light stays on even though handbrake is off. The engine doesnt turn over at all or make any noise. There is a single click noise coming from the ignition barrel..... anyone have any ideas on whats wrong ?

Also have an after market immobolizer installed by previous owner

No tech wizard here, but sounds like a faulty starter earth. Might be time to clean all those connectors.
