So this is my first post here guys. I live in Thailand and I'm trying to find a Distributor (whole unit) for a Suzuki SJ413 1998 model, over here they are called Caribians, same as the Samurai, Seirra and Jimny. It has the 1.3 TBI engine, and I can't for the life of me find a replacement part, even aftermarket I'm struggling. so if anyone has a secondhand one kicking around, that would be awesome. Cheers

Here's a few bits that might help

http://www.suzuki-cat.ru/ is good as a catalogue to find parts for your Suzuki. Enter the VIN number and it should pick the relevant model for you (theres a million variants of these).

flick through the Engine section and you'll find the schematic and corresponding part number.

I've used www.PartSouq.com for OEM Suzuki parts in the past and havent had any issue with them as yet, just enter the part number. Prices are in USD, as is the delivery cost.

If you're still stuck, PM me your VIN and ill have a look for you.

Best of luck,

Joe

Are you sure the entire distributor body has failed? Typically the distributor arm / cap requires replacing many times before the distributor itself fails. I'd be looking at your ignition coil, HT leads, distributor arm & cap and earth connections before pulling the distributor out.

Water, dirt and corrosion inside the distributor cap and on the arm itself can cause significant problems.

What sort of symptoms are you getting and what have you done to diagnose the fault?

Hey mate, not sure how it happened, but the pickup rotor has broken and smashed the sender unit, its a complete part of the dizzy drive shaft. So I'll try your recommendations see if I can find one, trouble is the jeep is stuck at the bottom of the biggest hill imaginable, so I'm praying this will get me out of there. Cheers

you're responsible for checking whether they are the correct part, I'm just looking around my usual sources for you.
Don't you have wreckers there? here you just call around until you find one that's been crashed/ wrecked and just go get the second hand part.

either way - good luck
