Hi all, thinking of putting 1.0 transfer case into my 1.3wt and having a little trouble finding a reasonable case and price in sa.
The question I want to ask is... If someone with a 1.0 case has fitted aftermarket reduction, can I then use the original 1.0 gears that they have removed and fit them to my 1.3 to reduce it ?? If so what parts will I also need? General gaskets and seals possibly bearings? And would there be anyone willing to part with there leftovers.
Any help on this matter will be much appreciated:) I have a few spare 1.3 cases ready to go
Yes, but people generally don't put reduction gears in 1l transfers because most reduction gears require you to use the low range output gear from a 1.3l transfer and you can generally sell the 1l transfer for a half decent amount anyway.
At the very least you'd need new gaskets but you could (and really, should) include bearings, seals, shims, shifter bush ect.
As above, 1.0l gearsets have a good value. You most likely wont find a cheap answer You could look for nonswitched 1.0l and three 1.0l flanges and make it work that way (by bastardising the shafts). Non switched 1.0l cases are nearly free.
