Hey Guys was chatting with my supplier saying we have a hole in the market for a good shock for Vitaras and he said he has part numbers for Vitara's available.

Just wanting to gauge interest, potenitally look at a group buy, they'll be a custom order from Germany in my suppliers next shipment so full payment is required upfront and it will be a wait somewhere in the 6-10 week range.

For those not familiar with the advantages of a Bilstein over something like a dobinsons, OME or EFS twin tube, is that it's a monotube construction, the shock piston is 46mm in diameter, compared to 35mm piston in a twin tube design and has a variable velocity valve stack shim, meaning its damping rate changes depending on the velocity of the shaft compression. It's the same tech you find in Fox, King and Radflo style race shocks, however Bilstein are very good with the valving and we find that they offer superior on road performance as well as a greater capacity to control a vehicle in offroad situations as well due to the physically larger piston and better valve tech.

Pricing hasn't been set yet but average price is around $360 for struts and $320 for rear shocks. The warranty is two years, the shocks are fully rebuildable, current it costs $187 per shock for a full rebuild, so these are a buy once type shock that will last from our experience at least 70-100000km before needing a rebuild.

We can package with EFS or Dobinsons springs as well for a full kit.

Sorry about the salesy type post, but I think these are a really good option for you guys looking for a bit more out of your suspension, in a bolt in application. I think the two most important things in regards to mods on a vehicle are suspension and tyres. Good tyres to maintain traction and good suspension to keep them on the ground to keep that traction!

All my rear shock injuries have been to the body of the shock not internal problems.

They are a good brand so probably in. (How soon it happens will play a role.)

I hope so . I realy want inverted monotube shocks . The rods on twin tube shocks are not strong enough for offroading a gv at full extension . I recon they bow and thats y everyone keeps having shocks leak. The sway bar just keeps them from having full down travel whick would be y they seem to last long with one still installed.
The dobinson struts are a good length so if dank can get some bilstein the same we will be sweet.

Dank if u cant what about the universal 40mm strut blanks they sell where u need to weld on your own ears and machine the pin to suit .
What would be the cost on one of them

Sorry guys, the supplier keeps changing his mind, he's not really interested unless i pre-order about 30 sets, and then the applications are only for the older vitaras anyway, no NGV listings.

I'm gonna put this on the back order as I've got a lot of other stuff to follow up on.

Koni make front struts for '88-'05 GV/ XL-7 - part number is 8741-1394Sport . Standard length though of course (I measured mine and they were slightly longer than the stock '04 XL-7 struts.) They are top adjustable for rebound.
