hi guys

does any one know the configuration of body mounts on a sj410 1982 ute,As I pulled it apart a year or two ago and am unable to find any info on the net.I have also tried to up load pic but unable .Any help would be much appreciated.

Page 20.13 has a picture of the chassis and the location of the body mounts.

The isolation rubbers (four in the center mount arms found at the ends of the center diagonal lines in the drawing) for the mounts are round and have a steel cup that rests into the chassis mount point - at least that is what I have experienced with the SJ413 "Sierra". The front and rear mounts comprise of four rubber squares with a hole in them through which the mounting bolts fit. Additionally, I think that there are four more rubber squares that sit at key points between the chassis and the body.

You might be able to obtain detailed information on the exact count and location from an aftermarket vendor on the web who sells replacement body mount spacers. Most of the major North American vendors sell these kits.

Pre 11/84 Sierra body mounts are completely different to later Sierras. The norm is to replace them with 10mm rubber pads as they're always rotten and you can't buy them new.

Anyway, you have 1 round rubber piece above and underneath the outriggers with the funky shaped washer at the bottom. The square pads sit between the body, the little towers and the crossmember. I'd glue those in.

I have made my profile pic as an example ,please comment if it is right or wrong ,As I thought the two rubbers cone join together and the steel washer is under that ,these then sit under chassie with a square rubber body mount above.

No. One round rubber each side of the chassis. Square rubbers are for elsewhere.

I am confused ,I might have the wrong rubbers as I am installing a 1994 cut back wagon on a 1982 ute chassis and I know that the 1994 chassis had the cone sape of the rubber pressed in to the chassis ,which the 1982 chassis does not ,it has a straight 16mm hole ????

The studs are too long on a 1.3 tub to work with the early chassis.
