Put the Vit through a half decent mud hole a few months back resulting in a tow home. After fixing the engine start issues (Bad starter solenoid and snapped timing belt). I went to take it for a test drive.

Started the car will not engage any gear, figuring my clutch was also fucked due to all the mud I replaced it just finished putting the gearbox back in and still not engaging while car is started.

Can put car into all gear while off and can start car in gear but can't change.

Thoughts?

You've done something wrong when replacing the clutch. Confirm the clutch cable isn't snapped, and if not, then you'll
have to drop the gearbox and sort it out.

Any specific ideas what I may have done wrong. I mean its exhibiting the original issue it had before I replaced it. I couldn't find any signs of the clutch cable being snapped but I was thinking of replacing it anyway.

The clutch is not disengaging (or not disengaging completely) - the possibilities run from as simple as an incorrect adjustment on the cable, to as major as a bent input shaft - what you need to do is go over the entire clutch release mechanism.

Common failure points include stripped splines on the pedal mechanism, ripped sheet metal on the firewall where the cable mounts, broken cable mounts, binding cable, incorrect cable, incorrectly installed release lever, incorrectly installed release bearing, incorrect release bearing, and probably a few more that escape my memory right now.
