why not just EFI a rebuilt G13?

Already running a g16 EFI, i only asked the question in case people were tending toward M-series but it appears not (lots to swap for not much gain).

in a sierra i would just EFI a G13 economy and reliability of driveline.

Bit of a hi-jack, on from Jezza86......
20kW brush-less AC electric motor & lithium batteries is being done - proving to be a bit of a nightmare to set up the controller, and yes, you are right about the moolah!!
Range is always going to be an issue though, when it gets sorted, the expectation is 3-4 hours of solar charging to 1-1.5 hours of driving, speed should be reasonable, around 100km/h.
Yet to be engineered (because it doesn't go so well at the minute) but has been inspected & should not present too much of a problem, so will be fully road registered (Vic.)

If i was to do my build again i would go for a m-series motor. I like the m-series motors more than a g-series even though they don't feel like they have as much torque as g-series. I perfer the way a m-series revs compared to a g-series - it just feels alot smoother imo. Other plus is they are in plentiful supply

It's not me who's doing the elec. stuff - my mad boss - Alan Johnson (Piranha Offroad / Seriously Suzi), has a bright yellow SWB N/T stuffed with 12 x 13" optima & 1 x 10" (to power lights etc) batteries, with a 6kW ex-forklift motor, geared to do 40km/h.
His equally mad mate, Mark French (of Mark's Adaptors fame) has a white SWB W/T with the lithium & 40kW combo - check out aussieoutbacksolarchallenge
July this year was cloudy & the crossing couldn't be done in the 10 day time frame allocated, but August 2016 is on - for as long & how many attempts as it takes.
Alan's car is old tech, is slow, sort of not too costly(?) but works. Mark's car still doesn't go yet - spike feedback from regenerative braking is thought to be the problem in blowing up controllers.
