Hi all At the end of January I will be attempting to put in a g13b into my 97 mg410 I've been researching here, and other places for a few weeks, and only have a few questions left to answer
First of all, I've read conflicting reports about whether I can use my original engine mounts or not. Depending on the year model with the sj410, apparently you can? But mines a mg, not sure what's the same and what's different in this regard. And if I need new mounts, anyone on here be able to fabricate some custom mounts that will keep my qld engineer happy?
I also heard you can space the gearbox mount 25mm to help clear the dizzy in the sj... Again, will this work in my mg? And if I do so, will it interfere with my jackshaft?
Those are the two main issues I've come across. To anyone else that has done this particular conversion, any pointers? I figure the tech article on doing this swap into a 1.3 sierra would be pretty similar to my conversion... But yeah, any input would be greatly appreciated
Its my first time tackling a conversion of this nature, a lil bit different to simply replacing blown engines and whatnot, so any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers

So no pointers, anyone?
I'm just trying to get all the info I need before I tackle this. As I said before, its a lil more than what I'm used to...

If its a maruti you'll need to cut the 1l mounts and weld in 1.3l mounts.
You can space the engine forward but then youll need to fab a plate for the gearbox and you will need to extend your jackshaft ķand get it balanced) If its not balanced you will be flogging the gearbox output shaft regularly.
As for the dizzy....if using mk1 engine and angle drive you wont have clearance issues but with mk2/3 and the mazda 323 cap/rotor you can bash the firewall a tad but dont cut it as the ar will be deemed a writeoff if pulled up.

Cheers mate, much appreciated
I think I won't worry about moving the engine forward then, sounds like more trouble then it will be worth. Now to find an old sierra to mooch some parts off
