So 3/16 hose will be perfectly fine for the breather lines?

3/16 is ample. The volume of air that moves is tiny. Really tiny.

Each to their own, but i hate the folded over hose and hose jammed into hose thing. It's messy, bulky and hard to trust. and with such a sharp angle on the hose coming off the diff, the risk is the hose will pinch shut, which would be worse than no extended breather at all.
