Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone on here has gave there zook a different colour respray before? i was just looking at doing it myself haha.
if anyone on here has resprayed there zook how much did it ost roughly.

Mine cast me about $25..... I rubbed tge gloss off ....sprayed it grey ...then got a fern and held it on tge grey paint and sprayed black around tge fern .....looks great !

The type of result you are after will dictate how much you spend. I've spent nearly a grand on materials on a Sierra (trade cost) for a a full 2k respray.

On the flip side I've also spent $100 on some cheep primer amd spraying enamel for a cheap bush rig. Have a guess which one looked/lasted better.

I am in the middle of painting the plastic skirts and front/rear bumpers on my Jimny at the moment. I went over the whole lot, filled any stone chips and deep scratches with blade putty, sanded off existing clear coat, primed then top coated with matt black. If you are going for a gloss finish, then you'll need clear top coat, probably a polishing compound and some good quality wax as well to finish it all off nicely. Mine is being done with just spray cans you can get from any auto shop. The matt black I am using is $16 a can and I will have used 3 by the time its finished.

I think for painting the bottom half of my whole car and then polishing up the rest it will cost me around $150 or so. Depends on the level of finish you want really. You don't have to fill chips/cracks if you don't want to but the finish is a lot better.
If you budget maybe $300 for the whole lot, that will get you reasonably close.

You can pick up cheap "interesting" colour paint from a shop that was not wanted/liked by another customer very cheap, but everything comes down to what type of spray gear you have access to and time.

A great spray job is 90%-95% prep/where you paint it, 1% painting and the rest is how you unmask and detail/polish if needed after it is dry.

Tips: 1. when painting if you get a run ignore it and finish the job, then while the paint is still wet take a piece of masking tape as long as the run and sticky side to the run place it carefully over it (the technique will get easier) then carefully puul the tape back off, let the coat dry and fix it with a light bit of sanding then put a few more coats or one good one over it. (hopefully by the second coat you have the hang of spraying).

2. if using a back yard shed remove as much clutter and wet the floor (to reduce dust getting in the paint).

3.buy a razor blade for masking and un masking and also a very thin masking tape so you can easily get your lines right then use thicker tape to attach to that (you will get a much more professional look!)

4. make sure there is nothing expensive parked near by, paying for a respray on 30 cars next door will blow your budget some what
