Some might say why would you want to remove window tint. Well if it's old and crusty, peeled off in places, or in my case simply just someone got caught up in the stupid chrome tint phase of 2002 that you can barely see out of and is such a bad home job to start with which quite possibly be defected for.

Now there's more than 1 way to skin a cat but this is the method that I done. (along with some experimenting)

Tools needed:
Heat gun
Razor blade scraper
Fine steel wool
Plenty of paper towels
Windex or soapy water

The main goal is that you want to heat the glass enough for the glue off with the tint. As tempting and easy as it is to simply rip off the old tint and call it done. TRUST ME, you do not want to do this. (lesson learnt)
Be very patient, it will be rewarded by less effort.

To those with a rear demister, it is a little more work as you SHOULD NOT use the scraper on the demister wires. Heat, Steel wool, and windex are your friends.

Start by heating the outside of the glass to soften the glue, then heat the tint side, pick at a corner and gently pulling on the tint, with enough heat it will just pull away easily, don't force it.



As you can see in this pic, alot of glue residue was left on the glass (not enough heat + impatient)
The best method I found to make it as painless as possible is work in very little sections, Grab the steel wool and scrub over the glue in horizontal and vertical, even in circles, basically you want the glue to be scuffed.
Heat the glass in the area your working on, spray very little windex just enough to use as a lubricant and get scrubbing.



The side windows are practically the same but obviously you can use a razor scraper. Again I found scuffing the glue, heating it and using windex as lube works best. But if you heat it up enough, there shouldn't be too much cleaning up to do.

When I was doing window tinting we just peeled of the old tinting and washed the old glue off with metho.

This tint would've been some cheap shit which, maybe it's me but it seemed to have alot of glue on it.
I did try metho in a small spot but it just didn't seem to eat away at the glue, maybe I should've persisted with it. I also tried degreaser and WD40 (considering it does a good job at everything else) again heat and scrubbing seemed to be the way to go.
