Chasing a bit of advice, Looking to put a 1994 sierra transfer case onto a 2004 Jimny that has chain slip issues.
After reading posts and gear ratio options on here is way over my head..I will try to put forward all the info I can
From what I was told my Jimny has a 2 inch lift
Current tyres are 255/70/15 that need replacing soon.(allready rub at times)
Thinking perhaps 235 65 15.
Transfer case I have in mind is from a 1994 Sierra and has the selector light wires on the side.
My questions are....
Will it bolt straight in?
Will the standard gear ratios be ok for 90% highway use? (Currently 3500 rpm at 100ks)...GPS and in car tacho
Is ia 94 Sierra transfer case the geared type (not belt) ?
Any other advice is welcomed

I bought the transfer case the other day ..tried for the tail shaft but it was allready gone.
yes its a manual

Hey mate I've put one in my 99 Jimny you will need a kit I used bents kit comes with instructions you will need a drive shaft spacer as Well as a Sierra drive shaft can't remember wich one tho sorry. as for gearing I can't help I bought a Sierra transfer case with 4.1 gears in it and doesn't get over 80 now but low range is amazing maybe even a tad low it's not my daily so don't care too much I drive it prety hard and destroyed 2 Jimny chain driven cases in no time but haven't had a problem with the Sierra case any other questions send me a pm mate

Its an M series motor, so you will need an M-non VVT gear box for it otgerwise the gearing will be heaps out. Jimnys use an elec speedo, so you will need some sort of ring to give it signal. A WT front and jack shaft are the ones you need to buy.

Other then buying the kit for fitting it from the UK you will need to modify a sierra Tcase stick to fit the new hole.

Once you get the right gear box 4.16 gears or a 1L switched tcase will be perfect for the general duties
