All vitaras had front diff housing made from cheese.

The manual 2.5L GVs up to 2003 had the steel front diffs.
After 2003 manual and auto gvs got them (no idea if bolt pattern is helpful)
Some XL7s front diffs may work, most are completely different.

Have to remove the gears and centre with air actuated bellows, and install the 5.12 ring and pinion and vit centre etc

Early vits also have 22 spline front axles etc
Later ones are 26 spline

Not sure how often, it wasnt too long ago he mentioned he had it.

Unfortunately doing vits properly is more difficult and expensive.
To upgrade the front diff to locked and reliable is approx 3x the cost of a WT

Breaking cvs/diffs when wheeling sucks for everyone on the trip, and in my opinion avoidable diff work plenty sucks too.
I feel really bad making everyone on a trip waste their time because im too cheap to sort my rig out.

But it looks like he got a nice vit.
Its a good starting point with efi and 26 spline front axles.
Man or auto?

Yeah it's all going to be done right just like fully zooked's vitara.... Done at least 30 trips with him and it has never let him down... Had a bloke up something for the front cvs and has never broken one again...

He did real well it's a manual mate
