Hi there,

Anyone got a cheap way to protect the jimny rad? I realise a bullbar is ideal but can't afford to drop $1000+ right now. I fit rad braces on my dirt bikes so thinking along those lines. I.e. Some sort of internal bar work to offer some impact protection. Nudge bars seem pretty useless. I'm planning a remote trip and an a bit worried about roos. We are not planning to drive after dark but you never know what can happen.

Thanks,
Brody

I really think the only protection is a bull bar. Anything close to the radiator will not have sufficient space for a crumple zone. Just drive in daylight and slow down in bushy areas. You can still clean up a roo by day but there is more chance of seeing it.

you could ask for a nudge bar in a jimny facebook group ? people seem to be trying to get rid of them fairly regularly on there.

not sure if anyone still makes them, but you used to be able to get a hidden winch cradle, which fits behind the standard bumper.
the other thing is you probably have a AC radiator infront of your car dadiator, so it already is kinda protected, but by something more fragile...
