Just fitted 225/75/16 bfg mtz to my 2000 grand vitara it has a 40mm dobinson lift and the front rubs at hard lock. The rear rubs when flexing. I trimed out the front but wondering what people have done for the rear i dont want to cut the guards as there is the fuel hose which will be left exposed. There is also a piece of metal which will be exposed

Any help woild be greatly appreciated

Where does it rub exactly? I have the same size tyres and lift and they only rubbed on the rear mud flaps and the front bar, the latter of which was fixed by bending a bracket. They do rub on the chassis at full lock but not enough to worry about.

It just rubs above the mudflats in the rear. But this is only when flexing I think. Would this be a case of get a 1 inch body lift?

Nope. The mudflap rubbing is nothing - I just left it. The front can be fixed with bending that little tab/bracket and lock-to-lock should be fine.
