Hey everyone,

So as you may know, I've come into possession of a 12000lb domin8r winch (tigerz11).
I've gone to wire it up today and it has come wired incorrectly as when the colour coded wires go onto the right spot, in goes out and vice versa. So I have swapped where the cables join onto the winch and out is now out again, but what I cannot work out is;
the clutch on these things. When it is disengaged I can freespool it out by hand, when it is engaged I cannot, however the motor will still wind it in regardless of where the clutch lever is. Is that right? I cannot find any information in the manual about it. I have rotated the clutch to clear the space it is in, which is why I'm wondering if I've done something wrong or if that's just how it operates.

Also, I suspect it to be battery related (it has a tiny 5 year old battery) when I first wired it up, it would spool out from the motor but now it won't spool it out anymore, it clicks the relay (I believe) and the engine RPM drops heavily and I can hear the winch motor making a noise. However it pulls the cable in with no issue. Is there more load spooling out compared to in (without load on the cable of course)

I'm going to source a bigger battery today and see if that helps the issue (hoping it does) but any help is greatly appreciated!

Did u swap the to tiny controll wires on the contactor or the big motor wires

Big motor wires. As I figure it would have the same effect?

Also, just noting, when I first wired it up, while it would spool out, it would not spool in. I managed to get the bigger exide today, hoping to be able to slot it in tomorrow after work and see if it clears any issues up.

So I quickly swapped batteries over this morning. All of the spooling issues are now gone, so that was all battery related.

The clutch is still doing its thing though. The drum still turns regardless of where the clutch lever is (engaged or not) however it makes an audible click when rotating it and trying to freespool. Obviously it's not good to run the motor with the clutch disengaged so I definitely won't be, but it's odd that 99% other winches completely disconnect it from the motor whereas this doesn't (or atleast doesn't seem to)
