So the car had no thermostat, i chucked one in it
But now the temp goes to half (unsure if thats where spose to be)
And i still have no heater even though is all connected.
Another odd thing is i have no pressure in the top radiator hose even when now up to temp ???
Whats wrong with this car?
Could it be the sensor? ( i think)
Below the tps ???

all the fuel lines [including fuel return lines and emmissions related stuff] clear / no blockages?

Had a similar problem with sons first [disposable] hyundai, the emissions system and some of the fuel lines were choked with charcoal pellets from the vapour canister thingo in the rear of the car.

The car would chug and die and generally run like a bucket of shit all the time.

Did some googling and found that as a result of the fuel tank being over-filled too many times, a thin layer of foam in the "fuel tank vapour catching canister thingo" rots to bits - letting the charcoal pellets get washed out of the canister and into the fuel system.
Then the little mongrels happily migrate all over the place creating havoc.

I ripped out the canister from Brodies excell - disconnected all the hoses and blew them out with compressed beer gas.
Lots of bits of soggy charcoal-y goo ended up all over the carport wall.......

Cut open the canister and found google was right - remnants of foam, and not much charcoal.

Flushed out the tank, flushed out all the pipes, scrounged more charcoal pellets from a wrecked car abandonned near our rifle range, glued fine S/S mesh in the top of the canister to stop the pellets from migrating, melted the top of the canister back on and put everything back, with fresh filters and a tank full of B.P's 98 octane and a bottle of injector cleaner.

Car ran like a scalded cat for the next week or so, until Brodie wrote it off

Maybe as simple as heater cable dislodged causing airlock/no hot air and the fuel pump not doing its job.
Will try more tmoz

Popped into suzistore and had a chat to brian.
We established that the misfire went away to an extent with the iac on the throttle body unplugged. I tried 3 different ones i had in the shed with throttle bodies but to no avail. Ive got one decent tb/iac to try then 100% out of ideas

i still can't help but think maybe fuel is still your issue. sure you've cleaned it etc, but you said it was running fine originally & your tank was full of watery fuel.

Mine took about 300-400km of good fuel / injector cleaner to get to near 100%... still on wet days it runs sluggish in lower RPM. My quest continues....

Haha yeah brian mentioned your iac was dicky
To be honest i think the jimny ecu/wiring setup is alot more finicky than the baleno wiring/ecu.
Does yours run the jimny setup with the jimny camshaft ?

Yep.

Hoping mine fixes itself still... it's a real piss off when you go to accelerate and there's nothing there. It's not at the point where it's dangerous, it's just like having the 1.3 again, then you get over 3000rpm and there's a surge of power.

G series jimny Q
How noisy should the pump be
Most zook pumps are barely audible from inside but this one seems quite noisy ???

Tried a new ECU ? I've been through something similar to this with an SR20 before, ended up being in the week the ecu wasn't in the car it had dried out a capacitor and ended up fingered.

My fuel pump is near-new. That's a whole other feeling when that dies. You go from power to essentially stalled and engine braking until the RPM is low enough for whatever pressure the pump is making to take over. For me, that was while overtaking a truck on a merging lane. Pretty scary almost being forced off the road =)

My issue is just a distinct lack of power, and it's so intermittent it's impossible to replicate.

Mine got a LOT better after i stopped filling up at a particular servo in malaga, and ran a bunch of injector cleaner through. I put some more in today and will keep monitoring it.

Bloody gremlins.
