Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone knows of someone or a company that do gti conversions for the Sierra in Melbourne. Example: installing the engine, loom etc and getting it to perfect working order? I'm not very mechanically minded unfortunately and don't really know anyone who is. Cheers.

Mostly, the GTI conversion is now superseded by G16B 1600 efi 16valve engines out of a Vitara.
Biggest issues with a GTI are all the motors are old & many copped a flogging, the torque / rev range is not that well suited to a 4WD, dealing with the distributor is a PITA - there are various ways round it, but none are 'great'.
A G16B is a better thing for drivability in a Sierra, with an adaptor kit, it's pretty much a bolt in job & wiring kits are also available.
Biggest issue with the G16B is that they have been known to crack the block between welsh plugs on the P/S, towards the rear (hidden under the exhaust manifold). This doesn't affect the way the engine runs, but can weep coolant.
Good luck with it.

Cheers buddy. So you are saying that the vit motor is more worth while? Just wanted it to be a bit quicker than it is now lol.

G16b from a baleno is plentiful and imo look the neatest.
I have a vit g16b in one and a baleno in the other.
The baleno is a much neater finished product (pic borrowed from DiscoS' build thread) and clears the bonnet better.

The intake hose from megazip fits the stock airbox in the factory position.
It was just over $100 for the intake pipe, and plastic adapter to remove the warm air intake valve.

The above includes a jimny intake manifold and extractors.

I need to finish off tidying up the wiring on mine now it's finished, but ill post a pic if I remember.
I used the baleno intake manifold, exhaust manifold and ran the radiator hose under the intake (I made my own passenger side engine mount).

An 8v g16a from a vit can be done in a day.
A g16b from a baleno and vit takes a while, but is very very worth it.
