Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well!

I've recently purchased a 2002 GV 4 door and was having a browse through Bullbars and stuff and have narrowed it down to 2 options!

The Xrox bar $1190 looks pretty awesome, and offers a big change to the front approach angles and stuff however looks like it could be on the slightly flimsy side of things

The Uneek 4x4 bar $1195 looks a lot more robust while make front approach angles a lot higher and looks like it comes with little dog lights mounted into the bar like the ARB and TJM bars and I've read on forums for other cars that you can ring and get some bar work added on to protect your headlights

If anyone on here's had Either of these bars I'd love to hear your opinion on them! Or if you've heard bad things/good things or if you've found an even better bar let me know! Looking forward to all the responses (hopefully)

Hey Connor!

Whilst I can't help you decide which bar to choose as I now own a Jimny, I can help ponder the question as to why you may need one?

Do you live in the rural areas where livestock and hoppers are an issue and real threat? Or do you live more in suburbia and want a bullbar based purely on looks?

When I bought my first 4x4 (1984 NT Sierra) I found one giant ass bullbar and mounted it to it because I thought it would make it look more the part, but really all it did was add weight it didn't need and that was about it.
Now that I have my jimny, I've actually mounted a winch but didn't want a bar at all due to the extra weight and enormous costs involved.

If more approach angle is what your chasing and you don't live in the middle of the nowhere and if you probably won't need a winch (this last point is somewhat irrelevant to this discussion anyways) I'd honestly suggest trimming the bumper with a jigsaw and spend that 1k on something that will help you off-road or make the car more enjoyable, IE; Better tyres, decent recovery gear set, maybe new suspension if you feel the need etc.

I guess it is more of a looks thing with the bullbar, I found out a mates father had an Xrox bar on his car (triton) and said it didn't weigh much, but I get what your saying about getting other things first and I think that might be the way to go, and just slowly save up for the bullbar slowly on the side

I'm actually needing some new tyres at the moment, I nearly had a heart attack at the price of some of the all terrains like BF Goodrich etc. absolute madness!

I've been there and done that. Wish someone told me not to get a bar first! Haha.

BFG's are certainly pricey! Depending on what you need or want, look at some of the cheaper Chinese options. I've personally run a set of Firenza mud tyres and FullRun mud tyres, they both are quiet and handle reasonably well for what they are.
I paid $140 a tyre for a set of 30" muddies. I believe an Xrox weighs somewhere in the 40-50kg range (may be wrong) but for the price of them.. It's just a bit outrages really! Haha.

hey mate I have a uneek 4x4 bar with a single centre hoop on my 2004 gv. same shape as yours. it's tough, air bag compliant and I've been really really happy with it. check my build for pics. it's way better and stronger than the Xrox

Yeah mate just had a look, your build looks unreal!
I think the Uneek bar looks a lot sturdier, did it cost you any extra to the centre loop put onto it?
