95 sierra
was running rough when i got it
have had the carbi rebuilt and now it idels awsome runs sweet
but every say 10 mins (round abouts) if im driving or sitting the car just dies

it restarts instant again but i pulling my hair out trying to work out what it could be

any advice be great

Assuming the OE mechanical pump, I don't see it restarting "instant" if it's the fuel pump - if there is a pump issue that causes the float bowl to empty, you'll need to crank for awhile to refill it.

It may not be this, but it sounds very similar to the problem I had. It turned out it was a bad earth. Ill try to get some pics up of what I did to mine to get it working again. But until then just try polishing up the contacts on the earth that runs the choke actuator.

Part of the fuel pump floating around in the bowl getting sucked up . Don't they start breaking down

Here is the photo of what I did to fix a problem that sounds very much similar.

You will note that you don't have to place the earth where I did, their is probably far better places to connect it to.
The reason for the issue only occurring after running it for a while, is you will probably already have a bad earth but not enough to stop it.
As it heats up you get a high earth and no more current flow, Resulting in the cars revs dropping off.
I will also make the note that this issue should only effect the idle, causing it to drop off.
It shouldn't cause the car to lose power if you have your foot down.
So if its still cutting out with your foot down, then it will most likely be something else.

ok so i have checked the earth and dont see an issue there as there was no change
im thinking now that the carb mixture screws are not set right

i have searched for a how to on this but cant find it
can some one point me to the link to tuning carbi for 1.3 suzki

Their is one screw that you can adjust, which is the idle control. The mixture controller has an anti-tamper head and ring on it. If you really want to adjust the mixture screw, you will need to have at it with a grinder, so as to make a head that you can turn on it.

Most people wouldn't recommend adjusting the fuel mixture screw, as it's a very easy way to cause yourself a headache. If you must adjust I recommend you screw it in as far as it will go, counting how many half-rotations you have. This way you have a way to reset it back to how it originally was.

Additionally, it's only for adjusting %CO at idle, in order to pass emissions testing at idle.

If adjusting it is required, there are other problems with the carb.

There is no tuning adjustment in the carby. There are idle speed adjustments, throttle stop adjustments, choke and idle up adjustments. None of those are related to your problem if the car is idling and running fine.

When it dies, is it shortly after a high load situation? (say you accelerate up to speed and a few seconds afterwards it dies? or you're cruising along and accelerate and it dies? if so, it's likely to be a fuel delivery problem, possible causes could be a failing fuel pump, a blockage in the fuel filter or pickup, a loose hose clamp or something causing some air to enter the fuel line between the tank and pump - the fuel pump can't lift fuel from the tank if there is any air entering the system.

As has been mentioned, debris in the float bowl blocking the jets. This debris could easily have been introduced during the rebuild of the carby.

so some more exploring today i found when i turn the lights on when she is idling the revs go up
so im thinking its earth issue

about to do the eather now to see if that makes a difference

Assuming you have the G13BA that is normal. Their is a small actuator to increase revs when lights are turned on, or when the fan/aircon is switched on. =/
