Yes it will bolt together.
The m18 produces far more torque than the torque limit of the auto (which is basically 110nm) run the biggest cooler you can and a trans temp gauge. It will get HOT.

No, but I am familiar with the maximum torque rating of the auto and how hot they run. I am aware of others who have run an m18 with an auto.

Hi Hillbilly2 What was wrong with my question about the M18a into an Auto Jimny ? I was only really asking whether the auto and manual have same bell housing pattern or is the block different for a manual and auto .

That's not Hillbilly referring to you, that is just Steve quoting him in his signature. Hillbilly was referring to Steve in another thread.

Ah- my signature strikes again with the newbies!
Yes it will bolt up. I really can't stress how hot these autos run compared to the AW-4 used in the vitara. They run hot even with a g13bb at 110nm
Two cars with the same gearing and tyres on the same track will see the jimny auto up to 50 degrees hotter than the AW-4

The auto seems to be more than a bit fragile - it will easily cook itself, if you do some steep (but a long way from seriously steep) trails and forget to shift to low range. When it does cook, it's basically a chuck away job - find a s/hand box, as the cost of rebuilding it will likely be more than the car is worth. Rgs, Michael
