i bought lifted 2 inch springs for my coily but didnt have struts so i went to pedders and they sold me standard size struts and said that they should give me the 2 inch lift, they are kyb excel g's.. and apparently its nto the struts that give u the lift, just the springs, are they right?

because i said the standard and extended struts on ebay so im confused.

just want to know before i try put them in, so i can reutrn if necessary,


and also what do i do to the strut mounts?

you need longer struts to take advantage of the longer springs fitted.

What do you mean? Nothing as far as I know, if you are just fitting a standard strut. Atari is right, extended struts are the go

why did you by standard struts when you already have a set on the car?

im not sure what you mean by that, but you can reinforce the strut mounts easily.

Get a large washer that will fit the top of the strut tower, and weld it inplace. also place another washer on the inside of the tower before you refit the bush that is in there.

well i told him i have the standard, and i was after some struts for my 2 inch springs and he gave me these saying they should do the trick i should pull out my struts and compare them, ill have to do it on the weekend,

I think you should be taking them back and going to a suspension shop that actually understand how suspension works

All you can do is compare the 2. Hopefully your new ones have more travel than the old ones...Ebay, onlineautoparts do front and rear combo (raised 40mm) for about $350 ish

x2 im not a fan of them either.

from what ive seen on that link, it looks as though what you have is just a standard replacement.

Those guys are good to deal with, but the lifted front struts are only about 20-25mm longer then stock. They would be better a bit longer IMO. I fitted these and the Ultima rear shocks, but there are lots of options for the rear shocks available on the market, so I will be fitting other shocks to my more off-oad oriented zuk shortly.

i went to another pedders (geebung) that did bigrigs lift and they added just like a hoop over the top of the strut thats lifts where the mount would sit by 40mm.

they did all this for free.
and he said he charged bigrig91 110 for each strut and 229 for labour (on his invoice)

i bought mine from moorooka for 88 each

here in the first pic, the cylinder is on top of where the mount should go, thats all they added to it, gives it a lift of 40mm,



and in the second pic you can see me tilt it so you can see under it,
