Rhinoman. But it will help him if you have a diagnosis first, a code. Mine was not primarily an ecu issue. But take my word for it VERY reasonable. I'll pm you.

Has to be a 03-05 GV ECU the earlier GV ECUs are different.

You can buy a phone car for under 1000 pull the bits you need, part the rest of the car and get your money back. There are two on gumtree now, autos. But I feel like yours is manual, Here is a v6 manual one.

Buy an entire car, get one with a steel front diff if you can, sell some parts and you will get your money back and have a free ECU and immo keypair. The front housing alone is worth a couple of hundred alone and all of the rest of the parts will add up quickly.

I don't have any space for another not going vehicle, so will see if i can find any parts from a wrecker, if no luck I'll consider sending my parts away, or sell the good bits from my car

Got to say although I didnt have any expensive failures on my old gv. I'm so glad I don't own one anymore, as they're a bloody expensive car to run for what they are. Even worse once lifted.
