Thanks for info about wheel bearing, new ones are roller bearing not ball bearing like standard but has anyone used them and what torque did you do them up to , I think they are designed to bottom out with correct clearances.
What type of grease do you use for cv and pivot bearings moly or blue lithium sticky type grease or other?

Nothing to expand on really. Check the FSM. CV's don't use bearing grease. It's fine for the kingpins though.

If you used bearing grease on the kingpins would that mix with the cv grease and mess it up? Or wouldn't they be able to cross pollinate?

I've always used cv grease on the king pin bearings, that would be fine too no? As the king pin bearings don't rotate constantly like the wheel bearings.

I've also had a few 'knowledgeable folk' try sell a single grease (like that red sticky shit the sticks to everything, seriously I've used it outside and somehow it's magically stuck to my bed?!) as a 'one grease for both' solution. What's your take on that?

Im not too sure mate but the red stuff cant be good for you, keeping it out the bedroom would be my advice

Cv's require moly grease

Because of the torque loading on the bearing surfaces when operating under power and at an angle, CV joints require a grease with extreme pressure additives - the most common is molybdenum disulfide - if there was nothing else available and you had to get home, wheel bearing grease would be better than no grease, but in the long term use of wheel bearing grease will result in premature failure of the CV joint.
