My coily Sierra decided today was the day that the immobiliser was going to die, 96 model 1.3L tin top, has an aftermarket black box immobiliser fitted with some dodgy looking cables connected to a relay that clicks on and off when I try to turn the engine over. nothing happens but the relay clicking on and off. Red LED light flashes but stays solid red when I attempt to turn it over. I have bypassed all of the starter motor wiring by running a new cable straight from the ignition barrel to the starter and now it just turns over without a spark and smells like it is getting a lot of fuel (before I bypassed there was nothing and I was not getting voltage to the contact wire at the starter). assuming the POS immobiliser also controls the spark?
has anyone had this issue before?
It was hard to start previously, I would turn it off then on a few times to get it to turn over and I always noticed the little red LED light flashing then it would turn off when the car started but now the engine does nothing and the LED stays lit.

currently left my sierra out on the farm and begged for a lift into town!

Just cut it out.
All u need to do is match the colour of the wires that join the imobiliser black wires and re-join them together.
For example if you have 2 black and yellow factory wires running into the immob black wires just cut the black wires off and rejoin black yellow with black yellow.
You can bypass most immob in less than 30 secs

Cheers MrRocky!
Thats exactly what I did. Followed all wires back after undoing the 300 km of electrical tape and found all of the dodgy electrical joins and cut all black cables off.
There was 1 black/yellow wire that I rejoined and a black/blue that I rejoined, all other Were just attached onto the cable so got the snip.
Ripped the POS immobiliser out and threw it in the bin and its running like a charm now.

Solved!
Traced all wires back from immobiliser and snipped. Rejoined yellow/black and blue/black wires and fired up straight away
