There are quite a few cheap Jimny snorkles for sale on Ebay (around $100).
Has anybody fitted one of these?
Are they of a 'you get what you pay for' quality standard and better avoided?

I can't speak for Jimny ones but I have an eBay snorkel on my Landcruiser. Quality wise it's great, much sturdier than the factory Toyota snorkel.

I wouldn't buy one that's fibreglass (there's a few out there), to prone to cracking and can't take the knocks that plastic can.

I put one on my facelift jimmy and it was fine. Just be careful with the template as they are a bit hit and miss.

It was 3 years ago so wouldn't have a clue who I bought it off. The one I got is the one with "jimny" on it.

They don't advertise as fitting the facelift models but it's pretty simple to fit.

I am fitting one I bought from wildplanetimport on Ebay. It was just over $80 delivered. (Ebay special with $20 discount)
It looks good and solid. I can't fault it for the price. The template is spot on - I have a 2011 Jimny without the turbo looking bonnet.
It involved removing the inner lining from the mudguard to get at the mounting bolts. There is also a canister ( some air or vacuum related item I think) fitted inside the mudguard which I needed to undo before I could remove the existing air intake thingy. All this is easier without the RHS front wheel and the battery. I test fit the snorkel and found it all good. I painted the holes I drilled and cut, and will reassemble everything tomorrow. Oh, I locktighted the supplied 6mm studs into the snorkel body to avoid having them coming loose later and will silicone the entry point into the aircleaner body.
No dramas..
