The new 1.4 "boosterjet" is a K14C engine. Transverse mounted in every car it sits in. No doubt adapter plates could possibly be made to mount any gearbox of your choice but that would be the least of your worries.

Tuned for economy not outright power which is the premise behind all the current crop of small turbo engined vehicles. They have effectively replaced 2.0l NA engines.
Quite a good rendered model video of the engine. Plastic inlet manifold with fairly normal looking runners. A lot of the exhaust manifold does look to be incorporated in the head.
Why choose this motor? Why not use a motor that already has an aftermarket following, a motor you can already run with a stand alone computer and with a rwd gearbox (like an Ecotec GM motor or an ecoboost ford?
I also don't get how you're figuring you'll see a 45% reduction in fuel use. Put a G16b in a new vitara with its tiny road tyres, tall gearing and aerodynamics and see what economy it gets. I bet it's better than 11l/100km. Additionally is that 6l figure an official figure, or an official figure achieved under test conditions? Because most cars real world can't get within a cooee of their official figures in actual use.

yeah my new collie is like 8 or 9 per 100km on paper, its 10-14! they did not allow for my heavy right foot or a bunch of tools and ladders.
Looking at the engine's layout - there is no room for a conventional engine mount on the LHS of the engine. The inlet manifold faces towards the firewall, and as has been pointed out, is plastic. The catalytic converter is pretty bulky and in the way.
Understanding a little about the engine management in direct injection motors, lots of things that can to upset the ECU and prevent the engine going into stratified (i.e very lean) mode which will prevent economy improving significantly over a conventional port injected motor. O2 sensing is very carefully monitored etc.
I genuinely don't believe this motor could be made to run in a Sierra without also fitting the complete CAN Bus loom/ECU/body computer/gauges/column/everything, and then trying to trick the computer into disregarding all the sensors that are missing. (wheelspeed sensors? ABS? airbags? This seems like an absolutely gigantic task to end up with less power and torque than a 4AGZE, and zero tuneability.
I don't believe this is future of engine conversions into Sierras. Read up the problems people are having getting M18's to run properly in Jimnys and then multiply these problems by several million. It makes an M18 look like as sensible and easy swap.
