I used to get carby icing up in cool and humid conditions when I had a snorkel on.
Removed the snorkel for winter and it was better, I rigged up a diy a warm air intake pipe based on how the manual warm air intake vents were done, and it was annoying, but totally fixed it.

I really regretted binning the automatic warm air intake system but now both are efi and it's not a problem.
I kept the last warm air intake just in case i need it somewhere

Sorry if it sound silly but could you attach a heater to the carb (not really fixing the issue but could help)? Something like a motorbike grip heater, or a carb heater from someone like ktm or Huksy?

I thought of that too but having looked online at what people having been doing in the northern hemisphere i read a few reports of people trying motorcycle hand warmers but finding that they dont put off enough heat.

This is a heat element being sold for rotax light aircraft engines http://www.esatclear.ie/~xair/jabiru%20carb%20heat.htm pretty costly though.

The simplest and most cost effective solution though seems to be running the stove pipe setup as intended from the factory.

It was interesting to see so many sierras in Hakuba Japan when i was there earlier this year for their snow season. Seemed to be a very popular choice of vehicle but sadly the salted roads had taken a pretty heavy toll on a lot of them. Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to take a sneak peak under any bonnets to see what setups they were using. Worth mentioning that none of them were running snorkles though.

Factory stove pipe arrived today just in time as im literally about to head off to the snow from sydney. Don't have the actuator yet but in the interim have disconnected the snorkle and jammed the pipe straight into n the airbox. I've mounted the other end crudely near the exhaust manifold when it can pull warmer air. Fairly confident this will prevent icing. Will report back on monday.

Back from the snow and can confirm that factory warm air pipe running straight from the airbox, across the engine bay and drawing warm air from around the extractors has sorted the issue. Made the trip from Sydney to Thredbo return passing though all the usual trouble spots with no issue and had better fuel economy.

I'll keep using this setup over the winter months and will revert back to the snorkle once the weather warms up.
