Hey all just wondering if anyone had already looked into the legalities regarding reversing lights for QLD, I'm going to call up the department of transport on monday and ask but thought I'd just try here first :P

Just asking because I'm interested in a Safari Rear bumper but obviously want to still be legally able to drive my car on the road haha thanks for any help :peaceout:

That bumper wont be legal here anyway.

4 red lights
No numberplate position
No reflectors
L&R Taillights too close together
Taillights too far from side of car

No reverse lights are the least of your worries.

Better off shopping for another bar. Most others will be fine. Qld you could probably get away with most things though. Not here in NSW with yearly checks

I run a single LED work light on the back of mine - straight through a factory hole in the bumper:

Although technically mine is not legal, as it is not wired to the reverse switch. I can operate the light independent of what gear I'm in and even with the engine off. I chose to do it this way for maximum versatility (ie: when i want it on, i can!).

Thread hi-jacking.

BlueSuzy, do you know the ADRs for rear lights by any chance? (or anyone that sees this lol)
Need to know how close I can put brake lights together/how far in from the edge.

https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2007C00608/52069310-a68d-4234-898f-844000bab145

Edit;
Considering these days it's too hard to read more then 1 page of text, the short answer is inside edges must be no less then 600mm apart for most vehicles, but no less then 400mm apart for vehicles with less the 1300mm overall width.

My reflectors(in original tailights and positioning) Were too far in from the edge of the car also. 400mm comes to mind. My flares are huge though for hilux width.
