Turned my lights on the other night whilst idling in the driveway and the revs went up to 2500 rhythmically surged to 3000, back to 2500. I turned the lights off and went back to idling normally, played around a bit and found that the rear de-mister and aircon fans (no actual aircon) also caused the high idle/ surging. Radio, wipers and lightbar don't cause any real change to rpms,Im thinking stuffed alternator or bad ground, any other ideas?

Electrical load idle up, Normal albeit high.
You can adjust the rpm for this at the front of the carby. Get someone to turn the lights on and off whilst looking at it, you'll see which bit is moving.
