I have a Maruti 10A engine in my LJ80 what, apart from the bore and stroke is the difference. Example: I want to swap the rocker cover (Maruti) from my other (Suzuki) LJ engine etc etc........

The rocker covers swap. If you get one from an early LJ80 they say "made in japan" and are a little nicer looking casting.

The head is slightly different, F8as have a housing for the cam seal that bolts to the front of the head. As such, the timing cover and cam are also different. F10as just have the seal pressed into the front of the head. Valve sizes, cam profile, rocker ratio ect are all the same. Later F10as have a hump in the ex port to increase the radius from the bowls to the port but otherwise the ports are the same. You can swap the whole F8a head on to the F10 or vice versa but there's no performance advantage to doing so.

The carbies and intake manifolds are different. You can't fit an F8a carb to an F10a manifold (different bolt spacing) but you can swap the whole assembly. Again, both carbs are 32mm and there's no real advantage to going with one or the other.

Dizzys, fuel pump, block water pipe, water pump all swap.

On the subject of manifolds/carbs the F10a manifold/carb is a little shorter than the F8a one so I had troubles with the carby pulling out of the airbox boot. In the end I swapped to a different airbox because the LJ one is so hard to get decent filters for but you could move the air box closer or swap back to the F8a manifold/carby if it's a problem. Part of my problem was the old, hard intake boot. You can buy them new but I was a broke ass student.

I had no such drama when i put the maruti motor in my lj with a new boot and a new ebay carb. All fit together spot on.
Also swapped the rocker covers over so mine now says suzuki

Yeah it fits well just sitting but mine would pull off when you drove it.

What brand are your extractors?

That's a clean engine! I'll try and keep the Maruti as is, with the exception of the rocker cover.

You will need to use the lj80 dizzy housing and i used the fuelpump as well cause it looked cool, i rebuilt the fuelpump with a kit was easy enough.
Got the extractors from suzistore, think they are pacemakers but not 100% brian from suzistore said they would fit in an lj and they are 4 into 1 type so actually make a fair bit of difference. Id heard a few stories of 1ltr extractors needing cutting and welding to fit in an lj so i was happy to pay a little more for a gaurenteed fit
