Hi, just made an account to ask this question. I am soo confused as to where the transmission fill and drain plug are located. The car in question is a 2010 suzuki swift sport Manual, I bought the car without its owners manual, and supercheap has no workshop manual. The car also has no trans dipstic, so i cant even check the level or color of the fluid, I'm stuck, ive look all over the internet and cant seem to find anything remotely useful.
I need help hahaha, cause I don't want to take it to a mechanic, oh and I would like to know where the fuel filter is located, is it in the tank? in the engine bay? Though id change that aswell.

Thanks mate there some really useful info in there, but im just having trouble figuring out which plug the fill and drain one is. I'm guessing it's 18 in the diagram?

I would think the two 18s would the fill and drain plugs.

My experience with a transmission with no dip stick is that it needs to be level and running while you remove the fill plug to check it. For me that translates into being on a lift. Fortunately it doesn't need to be done very often, mostly at service times.

Manual transmission shouldn’t need to be running.

Yep, looks like the two 18’s are your fill and drain plug. Undo whichever one is higher with the vehicle level. Probably the one on the right, stick your finger in and if you touch oil then it’s full enough. If it’s dirty, change it.

The only transmissions I've ever seen a recommendation that the engine be running when checking, and please note, that is the engine, not the transmission, have been automatics.

Manual transmissions are done with the engine off and the vehicle level, and the oil should be just level with the fill hole, if it dribbles out you're good, if it doesn't and you can reach it with a pinky finger through the hole you're good.
