There isn't an actual listing for a snorkel to go onto the 2.4l J24b... what fits, the diesel one or the one to suit the V6?

There is potentially 2 ways to do this, I say potentially as I have only done 1, but think the other is simpler / better.
Safari don't list the J24 engined version, as in their wisdom, Suzuki changed the angle of entry of the inlet to the airbox.
I think everything but the J24 has the inlet at right angles to the front face of the air box.
The Safari snorkel for this car is a bit different to their usual method of construction. The main body is 'short' on the guard, this connects to a rigid duct that runs over the top of the tyre, behind the liner, then that duct connects to a huge 'U' shaped moulded rubber hose that drops down the front of the tyre, under the headlight, before angling back up onto the airbox - very complicated & a bit of a bastard to fit!.
When Suzuki changed the airbox for the J24, Safari couldn't come at re-moulding the hose for that engine alone, so say it doesn't suit / fit that version.
To make it fit: 1) I have made an 'adapter' from pumped up exhaust tube, cut, angled, welded, cut some more, welded back up some more - you get the picture, it's not that pretty to look at, but it does have the tightness of angle change to allow the moulded hose to connect to the angled airbox. We (Piranha Offroad) only fit these, along with the Snorkel in Boronia. Vic, i.e, don't sell this adapter by itself.
Make it fit: 2) This would be nice if it works & I think it will, but haven't tried it. You have to buy the bottom half of an airbox (maybe the whole thing?) off a V6 or Diesel engined car, swap it for the J24 version & fit the snorkel up.

Cheers for the detailed reply... the thing is brand new so I'd like to avoid the bootyfab option. Will look at the diesel & v6 airboxes.
