Anyone know of a GTi tuner.. Someone who only does Gtis and who would have the bits on hand to sort out any issues with sensors etc....

The reason I now need to do this is my son took the car to a friends place at my request to "test the timing" to see if it was ok. I wanted this done because I had replaced the dizzy cap and the rotor.. Simple right.. Timing light on, see where the timing mark was... Nah....the guy insisted that the idle was too high and messed with the TPS....and he didn't mark it before he moved it ... He then stuffed around with other stuff and now it makes hardly any power... Did he put a timing light on it ....NO....aaaahhhhh.. Why don't people just do as they are asked....sooooo annoyed.. TPS is nothing to mess with... anyway... I need a Suzi guru to fix up what this guy has done....

Check out Craig Wood. Find him on Facebook. I haven't used him but seems to know his stuff. He is south side though regarding swifts. Also Dr Suzuki, I use him. But he is further south.

It was Craig that sold us the conversion..engine, ecu etc etc ... I didn't realize he had a business.. I thought he was just a guy selling his GTi stuff... I will get on to him re a quick tune...My son was down at his place the other day picking up a couple of things he forgot to give us for the conversion so he knows where to go already.. Cheers.

Sorted.. There was a couple of issues.. The worst was the cold weather valve that hangs off the drivers side of the intake manifold. It is supposed to be open in the cold eg...snow..lol and open in the warm...eg...Brisbane all year round.. It was staying open which meant way too much air like a giant vacuum leak.. so no amount of adjusting anything was going to fix that.. Blocked it off and problem solved... Suddenly idling better. Next problem was hesitation when flooring it.. This ended up being a sus MAF ..Replaced that with a 2nd hand one Craig had and that problem was solved.. Once the faulty bits were sorted it was a matter of adjusting the TPS, timing and idle screw and wooshka...heaps better performance...Much stronger up hills and good mid range power.. I must say that after 1 hour drive down and another hour hour back, I was glad to get out of the car. It had been raining and muddies and rain don't mix and I am used to the surefootedness of my Rex, wet or dry..

old mate Craig Anthony Wood aka Suzuki Performance and Racing isn't getting a good rep of the facebook pages from the bits i see, seems like there are a few upset people wanting their goods/refunds & it's not the first time I've seen it come up.
