Been looking into converting my rear side windows to what's called a gull-wing. Haven't found any DIY projects online anywhere. Being they are tempered glass and can't be cut or drilled for latch or hinges, it looks like I'll have to replace the windows entirely with either perspex or sheet metal. At the moment I cant even figure out how the current windows even come out from the hinge.

Has anyone done this to their rig? or is there an existing thread on this conversion.

I was just sussing materials the for one today found your thread. I had to jump in and say hi.
I'm going to make a frame from plate and glue it too.
I've found euro style hinges and the compression locking latches
but I can't figure out what the inserts for the hinge bolts on the perspex are called.
I've found rubber well nuts but they are not sealed.
I like your idea of the thumb screws I wonder if I could find a black plastic finishing cap?
