The g13bb here is aus does not have a crank angle sensor, just a can sensor. i was wondering if the toothed wheel was still on the crank??, see if i can can mod up a sensor for it.

As a minimum you’d need to machine the block for the sensor.

I thought the hole might be there under the tin sump. I’ve seen rare g13bb blocks with a crank sensor as stock, but they were flat engines from vans

If I'm not mistaken, the crank sensor on the G13bb mounts in a hole on the oil pump, not the block, and what it's looking at is five teeth on the back edge of the crankshaft timing pulley. It should be possible to swap both over to an engine that didn't have them fitted, the sump would have to be modified to clear the sensor.
