What year are the r31 calipers?? Are you running any brake bias control?

Technically, any modification done to a car needs to be certified by an engineer.

A few years ago I was having a chat with some cops about modifications and engineers certificates and basically they said unless it's a wild engine conversion or loud, they don't usually care.

My previous car was a bit of a sleeper and it was engineered, a couple of times after running my plates and seeing that it was engineered the cops would pull me up to just to check it out. I never got defected, only complimented

If you wanna fit 31 skyline brakes, you'll find most nissan parts are interchangable, even VL commos

So VL calipers might be worth a go? Damo what mods did you do to make the Sierra handbrake mechanism to work??

Really i think that hydraulic is way overkill. Why do that when a cable is so effective and easy to integrate into the stock system?

I've had to adjust my cable once in about the two years it been back on the road...it took all of 5 minutes to loosen the knarps, pull some more cable through and tighten the knarps again.

It's so simple i can't beleive more people don't go down this path. I'll get some pics when I go to the zook again this coming week sometime. Looks similar to the spidertrax e-brake kit but without the bling!

What's the dia of the rotor you used? Losing ground clearance to the rotor would be the biggest drawback.

I'd be guessing the diameter would be around 8-10 inches. I've got a 50mm transfer lift and the bottom of the caliper from memory is no lower than the bottom of the transfer, its tucked up very nicely. I've never smashed it on anything. When i go to the zook again I will get some pics.

Grave dig: What are the options about these days. I refuse to run (and cannot with my build) a transfer mounted drum or disc brake set up. I would like something that works with the factory handbrake lever and it needs to be a 'kit' for engineering purposes.

Suggestions?

Running Golf MkIV rear calipers on my jumby, dont think i can fit 15's over them on jimny front discs. I run 16's so not a problem for me.

Yeah, i think its that they're common and newish, compared to trying to find calipers from 80's cars.
