Hi Brain trust i have ordered a 3k carby from ebay with the intention to install it using this kit on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-Samurai ... 3755834682the kit is for LHD Samurai will this create issues for me ? with regards to throttle cable location and the bracket they supply and also something about the fuel cutoff solenoid not being hooked up or our cars not having one but the Americans do ? Kit includes a new laser cut Throttle Bracket with throttle cable attachment (no drilling required), new CNC machined phenolic Insulator/Spacer (with tapered bore and correct vacuum channel), new CNC machined Billet EGR block-off plate, Manifold gasket, 3K carb Base gasket, EGR gasket, new EGR flange hex head bolts, Tygon Fuel line with new spring clamps, Tygon vacuum line and manifold port vacuum caps, and EZ Glide choke cable.

For US$118 plus shipping and conversion to aussie dollar the value isn't there.
If you can use a drill, files and/or grinder you'll be better off just making your own.
Throttle bracket easily made with angle iron, EGR plate, can make your own or just disconnect vacuum hose and not worry about it, Choke cable, get a Maruti one off eBay and modify, Fuel fitting, re use the stock banjo fitting and bolt once you remove the adapter on the 3/4k.
Fuel cutoff solenoid, Our carbs have them and the 4k carb does. Just needs 12v ign power which is already there from stock

Fuel cutoff solenoid, Our carbs have them and the 4k carb does. Just needs 12v ign power which is already there from stock i dont have a stock carb unfortunately i have a weber. the replacement carb i purchased was a 3k. the 3k apparently does not come with that green plug externally hanging off the carb and the 4k does when you compare a 4k to a 3k carb you can see this. Quote: The 4K carb has an additional, 12 volt, Fuel Cut-off Solenoid to prevent “dieseling” when the engine is shut off. The 3K carburetor has internal machining completed to accept this Fuel Cut-Off Solenoid. A hex plug is screwed into the 3K carb housing blocking the ports off when not used. from a website i found. so does this mean i just dont need it on a 3k and it will work and idle fine with the 3k without it or do i need to find the Fuel Cut-Off Solenoid off ebay or somewhere for this carby and wire it up to a port that they pre drilled in the 3k carb to fit it ? if thats the case i might just send this 3k back when it arrived and get the 4k its the same price and comes with the fuel cut solenoid...

sorry guys for spamming, but the guy who made the 3k toy carb kits has sent me some information that might help others understand the differences between the 2. Quote: You are correct in noting the 4K has a fuel cut-off solenoid and the 3K does not. I have several 4K’s that I have never been able to work correctly. This is what I found.
The fuel cut-off on the 4K simply shuts off fuel between the fuel bowl and the idle circuit. When energized, the solenoid allows fuel to pass to the idle circuit. When de-energized it blocks the fuel flow, capturing the fuel vapors in the fuel bowl and allowing the vapors to migrate to the charcoal canister. BUT when the solenoid closes, fuel left in the idle circuit is sucked into the engine (no harmful effects have been detected) and leaves this circuit “dry”. Upon re-start, the engine must turn enough to suck fuel back into this idle circuit which may take several seconds (what I consider too much cranking). The solenoid is here for pollution controls (less fuel vapor into the atmosphere).
The other detrimental effect of the solenoid, is the holes for fuel to pass through are very tiny – too tiny – to produce a good idle with a healthy engine. The A/F ratio will wander from 15.5 to 13.6 as the fuel is being sucked into the idle circuit. The solenoid holes are in such a position that if these are drilled out, they will leak (the seal will not cover the hole as it should). It will require a small slot to be machined (0.025 wide x 0.030 long) to “fix” the operation of the solenoid. – Too much effort for no real gain.
With the 3K there is no solenoid. The idle circuit remains open, allowing fumes to migrate into the atmosphere. Upon restart, the engine will fire up within 2 revolutions (right away!). No solenoid to connect, faster restarts, better idle – better all around.
SO I recommend you stay clear of the 4K carburetors. If you have a 4K already, you can replace the solenoid with a 8mm x 1.0 x 20mm bolt and seal washer and in effect turn the 4K into a 3K idle circuit. take this information with a grain of salt.

Just did the swap to ebay 4k carby, i didnt mod the adapter plate at all just made up new gaskits. I miss read thought frist page instructions. But bolted it all on, did take a bit to start up, but i have vacuum lines everywhere fixed them up then coolant leaking front where i just looped them now there not used. But running well set idle speed then played with mixture till it sounded good vacuum advanced seems to be working checked with light. Also i used cable mount from standard carby just bolted to the 10mm bolt on manifold woorking well so far. But have only reved has not been driven yet Whys the half moon grove gotta be filled? Im worred now
