Hi all,

Been trawling through the el/ef alternator swap pages to try and get some clarification but ended up more confused than where I started haha.

I'm swapping a G13BA from a 1993 Swift/Barina into my 1987 G13a powered sierra. As a result, I now have a set of multi-v pulleys I'd like to use in place of my sierra pulleys.

The only problem is, my swift water pump and pulley won't work with my mechanical fan due to the bolt pattern. I read somewhere that using a Vitara water pump and pulley will solve that problem, is that correct?

Essentially: if I track down a Vitara multi-v water pump pulley and use a Vitara water pump, will that bolt spacing be the same as my sierra fan (to use my existing fan) and will it be the same offset as my swift crank pulley so my alternator, water pump and crank pulleys all line up?

Failing that, what are my other options to run a multi-v pulley setup?

Many, many thanks guys, any insight is much appreciated :D

Why not just change the alternator pulley to pk?

How do you mean?

I have a complete single V belt setup from crank to water pump to alternator, that has been on the sierra forever, but since I've now got the swift crank pulley and alternator pulley I'd like to convert the entire engine to a 4pk multi-V belt.

The water pump is the only part I'm trying to source a solution for, as I don't want to run a thermo fan, rather my existing sierra mechanical fan.

I'm so happy you haven't wanted to use a thermo fan instead!

A sierra water pump will work too but you'll need a multi rib pulley from a carby vit.
I have heard some other cars wp pullies work, but i cannot confirm it.

Thanks for that, yeah I'd heard vits were an option but had no idea what to look for haha.

No thermo fan for me, I want as little electrickery as possible

I've decided to stick with the swift water pump and pulley, so everything is standard and all my engine parts can now be swift parts. Watch this space ;) There will be a mechanical fan running in this car by tomorrow, at least ;)
