i recently purchased a 85 Sierra, it has no anchor points.
I want to take my 5 yr old with me occasionally to the beach or in an emergency.
I have gone into my local installer and they have said that they cant put it in the floor because the seat hasnt been tested, which i understand.
i cant put a CRA Bar in either because the distance from the top of the seat to the frame work of the vehicle is too great (has to be less than 100mm).
i believe in my research i saw a split rear seat out of a sierra that had the retractable seatbelt incorperated into the rear of the seat and also had an anchor point located top centre. i cannot for the life of me find it again for anything similar. i was told if this seat can bolt in without modifiactions then it will be safe and legal.
can anyone help me out please im nearly at the point of giving up but i want the kids to enjoy the little beast as well.

Not on this one, believe me ive looked 5 times just incase i missed it, it would make my life so much easier if they were there.

I run a large rated chain picking up the 2 x seatbelt bolts and the 2 x center catch bolts and clip on to that. I used longer high tensile bolts and hd washers.
Im satisfied having my 2 kids in the back with this setup. Safe beats ĺegal for me and i trust my own abilities rather than a pimply faced 17yo "approved " child restraint installer

Actually thinking about it my 85 LWB Sierra had the rear seats out of a 95 swb Sierra in it.
They bolt straight in so maybe that’s the easiest way for you to sort it out.
If you don’t have front retractable seat belts then the later retractable ones are a straight fit as well

My 91 soft top had the anchor points in it, but they were covered by the vinyl seat backing.
If you press your finger on the metal near and around the anchor straps to keep them folded up, you may find a hole, that has the correct imperial thread.

Thanks guys for the info. Shep f##king legend that's the info I was after but can anyone further that by telling me what year they started the in built retractable seatbelts so I can start looking for some.

89 definitely had retractable belts as that’s what I robbed mine out of.

Shep, are you talking about the front seat belts or rears?
Just in case I didn't explain myself, I'm looking for rear seats with Incorporated retractable seat belts, or as a minimum seats with child anchor points.

99% sierras never came with retractable rear belts
Pretty sure jimnys never had them either

Some JDM hardtop sierras had retractable rear seat belts, I doubt you could retrofit that to your early model though. Jimnys had them.
