Hey guys,

Looking to find some castor correction bushes for my jimny, and probably a steering dampner also.

I thought I would ask on here if anyone knew of somewhere I could pick them up at good prices?

I have asked a few stores so far..

UV4x4 at enoggera told me I shouldn't put a dampner on and the guy I spoke with could only give me prices on Patrol bushes and opposite lock told me $190 for the bushes, plus another like 30? for freight, which seemed pretty steep on a little pack of 4 rubber bushes.

The website isn't the best in the world...prices are sometimes good. I have found them really good to deal with. Others don't.

Actually yea have emailed them twice trying to order things and got no response - from 2 separate email accounts. Wasn't too impressed by that. Some of their items seem decently priced, others pretty excessive.. just depends on the item.

is there a better way to fix the castor, those bushes are pretty nasty

Big balls might do a damper kit I think? otherwise your better going to UV at Brendale and seeing Jason in a few weeks

As for the castor, I haven't really heard/found any other feasible options..

What is it about them that makes them nasty royce? I do not know much about them.

The damper kits are pretty straightforward as far as i know? Like most suppliers should have them?

nah nobody keeps stuff for suzukis, they are either too new to mod or owned by stingy people that wont pay for stuff

I'm not sure about the bushes, I believe so - however I have seen quite a few jims with them, all of which seem to still flex ok...

I can probably sort you out for both. Only guys doing castor correction for the jimny that I know of are TD and they are urethane and yes urethane sucks but thats your only option. They may not be as bad as people think though.

If you want more flex remove the front radius arm bolt on the drivers side radius arm and watch that binding disappear! Its an old rover trick, try it and see how much more flex you get.

Obviously only for offroad and all the usual disclaimers apply

I get a lot of stuff from Suzistore in WA they have excellent prices, a great website that is easy to navigate and can pretty much get you anything even stuff that isn't advertised on their site.. They also reply within a day (sometimes within hours even at midnight EST) to any emails to any requests wether it be for parts or just advice.

I'd be very careful of Suzisport QLD as I bought a 1.6 short motor off them, which was supposed to be a complete kit, well after 4 months of trying to get everything off them that was supposed to be in the kit I got jack of them and ended up going through Suzistore.

Give them a go I highly recommend them.

Seeing as a coily and jimny are similiar in the front end, i'll just go from what mine is.

Firstly, i have custom made castor correction plates, welded over the top of the original mounts on the axle housing with the front hole drilled lower. So that is an option to think about. Serves to not only correct castor, but to beef the mounts up.

Now the issue. You can't go to far with the castor. When you have full travel upwards on one side with the wheels turned, the tie rod will rub on the radius arm if you go to far. Say right hand wheel up and full lock left, the tie rod will press against the right side radius arm. Mine just touches, i have always been a little concerned about it, but the fact nothing has broken or bent yet, i havn't bothered to do anything else about it.

You'd need new arms, like those from Snake Racing to help get around that problem, but for the price of those things, i wouldn't touch them.

As you know my Jimny flexes quite well and my Castor bushes have worn quite well. They're about 7 years old. I've been looking for a bolt on plate for some time with no luck. Also I don't know that a bolt on option would work anyway. I have also considered the weld on option but don't want to go to such a permanent measure.

I can't remember where I bought my bushes from, but I think it was Fulcrum on Webster Rd.
