About a month ago when towing my camper trailer with the jim my indicators started playing up and blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse and they worked intermittently for the rest of the 3 week trip we were on. Got home and things started to get interesting.

- Indicators work (mostly) when not towing
- When I brake sometimes my right indicator partially lights up
- When I turn my lights on they’re always on high beams, can’t turn them off
- Dash lights flickered and then went out about a week ago

I thought it may have been the combo switch so I’ve replaced that. No change

Any ideas? Any advice greatly appreciated

Bad ground most likely, but the first point of call would be the trailer plug wiring. Japanese electrical circuits are generally robust and trouble free. Most often, it's owner installed parts/work that will be the cause.

The previous owner wired in the trailer plug. I’ll investigate that and then start looking for bad grounds. Thanks Steve

Check for poor ground connections associated with the tail lights. Also check that there is a good ground to the chassis and it's not cut/blown/damaged.

I'm not all that familiar with Jimnys, but Sierras only have a tiny ground to the chassis - there's no factory heavy ground to the chassis. On a Sierra, it's down on the rear crossmember (from memory)

I'd hook a jumper lead from the negative terminal of the battery to the chassis, confirm with a test light or multimeter the chassis is grounded, then see if some/all of your problems go away.

Does the car have any other accessory wiring in it?
