Hi all, newbie here.

I have searched around, but couldnt find a definete answer.

Does anyone know if the transfer case from a 96 1.6 swb vitara can be swapped for one on a 91 1.6 swb Vitara?

Ours, teh 91 is noisy and I have found the 96 one not too far from home.

Thanks in advance.

Just too add to that was there an age range where they could be swapped, say 89-96 just so I have a bit of scope to keep looking if this one isnt any good.

Thanks again.

yeah the 1.6 vit boxes are interchangeable, there are small internal differences but the key external dimensions and bolt patterns are the same.

Mate, If it doesn't work out with your current transfer, I've got a 96 1.6lt transfer for sale thats out of a manual with 150000klm on it. FYI.
I've also got the tail shaft if needed.
