I’ve got an issue with my g13ba not idling properly. When cold and even up to temp it is idling high. Between1500 and 1800 RPM. I replaced the timing belt a about two weeks ago and had to wait on new radiator hoses to arrive before I could reinstall the radiator. While the radiator was out I turned the motor over once just to check everything had gone together after timing belt change correctly. Motor started and I turned it off straight away. Since then my radiator hoses turned up which installed today as well as new heater hoses. Filled it up with coolant and fired it up and that’s when the high idling issue has begun. I have taken it for a drive to see if it improves when up and running and it hasn’t. The idle screw doesn’t seem to be able to wind it down. I have wound it right in and it idled up around 3000 RPM so I slowly wound it out and it came down until I got around the same 15-1700RPM mark and then stop affecting the idle. From a little forum searching I wander if I might have an issue with the auto choke being blocked, not that I exactly know what that means.

Just thought I’d get some advice and see if anything o could have done with timing belt replacement or radiator and heater hose replacement would have cause my issue. Or could I have caused an issue turning the motor over even momentarily with the cooling system disconnected. Like an air bubble somewhere? And am I correct that the idle adjustment screw is the small flat headed screw through a spring just behind the small electric solenoid on the engine side of the carb?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Check vacuum hoses, then clean fuel cut off solenoid.
