Hey all I have a g16a in my sierra all is going well in the world until I randomly broke a rocker arm, which then did other damage... Love it    . Anyways new cam gear, new cam belt, another rocker arm and camshaft later all is back together. while I was waiting for cam gear i pulled the head and valves and pistons didnt make contact so that was a win. :peaceout: :peaceout:

I have lined everything up.
Flywheel tdc through the timing mark at the gearbox and the pulled the spark plug to confirm yep all is tdc there
tdc on Camshaft via the little mark on the cam gear all good so far, the lobes on the camshaft are facing down in a v pattern to the head
Distributor, pretty close no bolt in it so can move it around
Has fuel via elec fuel pump and weber carby

So far so good right, this is where the awesome begins, there is no bang, at all    , its turning over like there is no spark,
Checked coil yep lots of spark, checked leads yep spark, checked leads with plugs in them spark. There is compression, and with the exhaust manifold off it can see puffs of fuel coming from the exhaust ports.....Need some help i am doing my head in there is a carton of beer or $50 your choice if someone wants to come to Redbank plains to get it running for me.  :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

They’re timed off cylinder 4.
Try that.

Would that account for the no ignition firing type deal, I would think that I would get something of a noise from it

yeah, and plenty of fuel as well, can see puffs of it coming out of the head (no exhaust manifold on it) its acting like there is no spark in the engine at all, but have checked, coil, leads, distributor and plugs sparks everywhere

OK weird but small update, looks like my coil is having issues, turn it a fraction and it sparks 3 or 4 times with out it turning over...maybe that could be an issue as well, ... so changed distributor, and fixed the extra random spark issue however still doesnt start :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

after another 30 mins playing with it I got nothing.....
