Hi Zookers,

Hoping someone can give me some pointers please.

Ive replaced the rocker cover gaskets on my 2.5 H25A but having some issues fitting & getting everything back together.
I.e the throttle body & fuel rails etc & which order to re-add them in so you can reach all the bolts etc.

Ive searched youtube & I still am but wanted to ask here if anyone had some pointers to assist me with this please if possible.

If theres a video of this or something that would be great but obviously any help is appreciated.

Also with the spark plugs do I need to buy a special 16mm spark plug socket or am I missing something?

To start with your last issue 1st.
Yes, you will probably need a special thin wall socket - if your current one doesn't fit. Not too hard to find though.

The design of the top of the H20/25/27 is a painful thing - more fiddly & complicated than it needs to be.
I've done what you are doing a couple of times & must have 'blocked it out' - I know I used a wobble ended 3/8" drive extension to get to the lower nuts on the throttle body, but it's a PITA regardless.
It's not more complicated than it looks (I admit it does look bad though), so layer it up from the heads - intake manifold > injectors & rails > throttle body branch > throttle body, with lots of little steps along the way.

Hi Michael, cheers for the reply.

We battled through it & its all back together now thank goodness.
But its running quite rough & seems to be sucking air in somewhere from the sound of it.
Might have to find someone whos more familiar with these cars.

Could be from an injector seal?
The old 'trick' was to spray a little carb cleaner / start-ya-bastard carefully & selectively around seals & gasket joins to see it the engine smooths out or increases speed. Not a terribly safe practice though, so these days a 'smoke test' is better, but needs a machine to do it.

Could also be worth checking that the electrical plugs on the injectors are fully engaged & locked on.

Yeah a couple of people have suggested a similar test cheers.
I changed the spark plugs today so its going a bit better now but still something not right so will try more tomorrow.
