I have been offered this LJ, the fella wants me to make an offer.
Doesn’t go but appears to be nearly all there except for a grill.

Naturally I want it for cheap and he wants expensive so what would be a fair offer?

I would be looking at a resto job with maybe a modern motor

Just went and had a look. Was a big snake shit on top of the motor so didn’t poke around to much.
The floor is solid, couple of rust holes in the sills.
Body is generally ok but everything is dented. Apparently starts and drives.
Compliance plate is pretty corroded

He is chasing around $1000, is that drug money?

No, I'd say that's cheap.

Go for it Shep. Seems cheap to me. It's especially cheap when you consider how much Jeep parts cost these days...

Yeah I'd say normal asking price for something like that is $2-3k. Pretty cool being an early 80 too.

Mainly because I hate buying buying things off mates.

Plus that is a big snake turd. Big turd = big arse = big snake

Probably grab it next weekend

Haha it’s not clear enough for me, will fight big crocs but snakes scare me.

Anyway negotiations ended up at $1800 so I bought it. Thanks everyone for your help.

Now to find a grill and work out what to do with it.

I just sold one of my early 80 Tintops for $2400. Similar condition.

Not sure if there is more value in a soft top as I'm finding it incredibly hard to read the market these days.

I tried to merge this with the build thread I started and pretty much stuffed it up royally.
If I deleted anyone’s comments it was an accident.
