I am fitting a LJ80 motor to a lj50 for a friend and I was wondering if the LJ80 diff centers will fit in the LJ50 housing to give a higher ratio for the 4 stroke motor also are the splines the same.

The diff head will bolt straight in , however the rear axles on the LJ80-II are larger , so the LJ50 axles likely won’t match the lJ80 centres. Pretty sure the front has a similar issue .
I know you can fit LJ80 spider gears into lJ50 centre carriers to run 4.88 ratio diff in a Lj80 so would assume you could fit Lj50 spider gears into a lJ80 centre carrier to run the 4.55 ratio diff in a lJ50
Personally I would just fit bigger tyres on the LJ50 to account for the slight gearbox ratio differences .
