I was amazed with my listings saying they all run the same.
i didn't think it could be true.

After posting this arvo i organised for a late model jimny kit to come to my branch so i could check it out,

i'll post up all measurements on it and numbers i find so you can see if its what you guys think is right.

these aren't really cheap either, i think they are around the $65 + area if i remember correctly, does that sound about right for the kit?

whats the bet the double row ball bearing and the LM800349/11's have the same id/od. so they would appear to fit but wouldn't be able to get any load on the bearings

yeah mate thats the problem, they measure to be the same bearing but they just do not load up, thats why i gave up and repacked my originals lol

ok here is what i have found with the jimny kit,

it contains
1 of 54 x 69 x 7.5/9.5 seal
1 of 75 x 87 x 7 seal
1 of Double Row Angular contact Ball Bearing with Split Inner Ring
number on the bearing are - M335 DU4101T MALEK

compared sizes between this and NT,WT. Jimny bearins measured with old callipers and i don't have access to micrometres, seirra bearings sizes taken direct from timken catalogue

41mm - ID
68mm - OD
39.74mm - W inner ring
35mm – W outer ring

LM300849/11
40.988mm - ID
67.975mm - OD
18mm - W

for the LM300849/11 you need a should for the cups to go against to create preload so you can't interchange without making up a spacer to space the cups out to create the correct preload.

i hope this helps with anyone for future bearing replacements

Ok, so what was the end result of the investigation?

To replace a coily front wheel bearings with generic bearings from a bearing shop like CBC, you need an early jimmy kit?
And the part no was M335 DU4101T MALEK ?

And you retain the original spacers etc?

Is that right?

they only list two kits right through,

ask for the jimny kit, with the 'double row angular contact ball bearing'

aslong as you don't have two seperate cup and cone berings your got the right style.

the M335 DU1401T MALEK where just the markings on the one i have here, not the part number CBC/SES/BSC/BD's would reconise as a standard part.

If your having as much trouble as me with wheel bearings i strongly suggest you check your hubs for play. After paying for shops to do it, i finally had a go myself. The play in the wheel isnt because the bearing is shagged or wrong. I used some rod and 2 bits of steel at either end to hold the bearings together to simulate the locking nut being done up, and there was slight play still in the hub. so im on the lookout for jimny or coily hubs if anyone has any ideas or knows where i can get one. thanks heaps

you put it back together the same as the coily was, jimny and coily bearings are exactly the same.

actually the only difference between the whole hub setup between the two is the jimny has the pipes on the stub axle for the vacuum hubs and it has a different bearing locking ring which locates the vacuum hub. But you could use the jimny stub axle if you blocked up the pipes to stop shit getting in there and used the coily retaining ring.. or machined the lip off of the jimny one

so i think i hold the key to fixing my wheel bearing problem. sourced some jimny hub assemblies from the spindle with the 4 bolts out to just before the freewheeling hub. my question is, can i just unbolt my bearing hub assembly and stick this one on? the bearings and such are in good order. As samm said in the last post should i block the tubes for the vacumm hubs hub??

Hell yes! other wise you WILL let water & shit in, look through samm`s build & it may show what he did.

Attempted the hub assembly change today and proved im a dick head. The jimny hubs i got arent even the right ones for some reason
???? the inside diameter of the bearings in the jim hub are alot smaller than my coily hubs. so hopefully i can take them back. I nearly resorted to fire today cause im that over it. i will supply beer and food if someone wants to come and fix my car. Just need to find some coily hubs i hope thats the problem. Fuck it.

he is hitting it up tomorrow i had a chat to him on msn, just a bit of a small hurdle what i said earlier should still work at this stage, he was just worried about undoing the stub axle (spindle whatever)

Steknig came over tonight to help me out with my bearing issue. They are both fucked!! However, the new one that I had put in is wrong, no surprises either! WEAVES can you please, please check to see what piece of shit I have in mine. The number on the bearing is DAC4168W Koyo brand. It is loose in the housing to the point it has spun n there. Doesn't do up enough to get the load on it, no surprise again. Steknig please comment if i have left anything out or wrong

Just so I'm clear when I go to the bearing shop, what am I asking for?

I sent the seller an email letting him know about the issue in mine. I asked him if they are tryed and tested in a coily? Have to wait now I guess.

mate give up and just burn it. thats where im at with mine right now hahaha. just changed my bearing hubs from coily ones to jimny ones no more wiggle and shiiit. still gotta do the other side before the weekend no work for me tomorrow haha. still a funky grinding noise when i turn though but hopefully coming from the other one. good luck mate.
