i know this because i have to do it every day to get to work - just figured i would always get around to it and just got into habit,

But we are moving back up to Brissie, and the drover is getting transported...
I thought about doing diagrams up for the transport company so they know how to start my car however i figured they just probably wouldnt take it given they require the car to be running... im guessing they mean easily too...

My question is anyone know what to do to fix it?
Im guessing its the fuel pump as i replaced my last dodgy one with a second hand one to get it back on the road and to work and it worked fine for a bit and then every so often i would need take the top of the carb and drop in some petrol but now its been everyday for as long as i can remember...

I would look up my haynes man. but cant find it anywhere and my factory handbook just got packed today in one of the million boxes in my garage.

It sounds like the accelerator pump plunger in the carby ain't working

X2 The plunger was stuck and my wax choke was stuffed on mine.
your carby needs to get serviced or the pump is going out.

shiiiiiit i have only one day off between now and when i go.... reckon i can redo the carby myself over a few nights or take it to a professional and get them to do the whole thing?

If you don't have much time I'd get it done by a professional unless you know what you are doing maybe a second hand carb might be a better option

Just do the pump too. Nothing worse than getting crap through your newly rebuilt carby

Will get on it- I was just bout to give some wreckers a call bout a 2nd hand carby then realized all my tools are being picked up and transported today... Anyone know anything bout the sUziworld at Heidelberg in Vic? It's right near my work so would be easy...

Got them to look over it... Carb needs rebuilding, amongst other things like the starter - how tricky is it to replace a starter? I'll pay them to do it but cleaning and romovalists bill just got paid so trying to keep costs down... I wish I had my tools!

Starter you can have out in 10-15 mins. Very easy to do. They are easy to pull down and clean too, may be all yours needs?

well hopefully! What tools would you need for the job? I have a 10mm ratchet? head, a pair of pliers and 3 phillips head screwdrivers I forgot to pack...

Should be a 10mm head nut for the battery cable and either 12 or 14mm head bolt holding the starter onto the bell-housing. Maybe a screwdriver to get the airbox out too.

Sweet thanks scrawn! Would me throwing petrol down the carby and it starting just mean the starter has to work less and as a result it starts? Fuel pump is working fine... It's as you guys said accelerator plunger is hardly moving...
Ian told me the Starter wasn't going fast enough and wasn't firing as a result...

ran outta time with work going late last night... but now have new starter motor installed only $297... thanks to ian at suziworld! first time my car has started without assistance in a year! woohoo!
